Charlie Finch and Jillian MacKenzie
An introduction by Jill

I am a city girl with a big country heart. My roots are in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and Cobourg, Ontario. Two places very close to my heart. I spent a good part of my childhood learning that life in the country is a beautiful one. Surrounded by wildlife, nature and some of the nicest people in the world I soon learned that the city is only where I live not who I am.

Although I always wanted to look after animals for a living my life never did take that path. I did venture into rehabilitation therapy which I did for many years but now I focus my caregiving on my family and friends. My love for people and animals has made it easy to care for our most amazing young son (Aiden), one dear old dog (Timber), one cat (Omar) and a large tank of  fish.  I have always shared my life with as many pets as possible.

Charlie is a country boy who for now, lives in the city. Growing up in small towns throughout British Columbia and working along side his Dad, he is my Jack of all Trades. With a love for mechanics and electronics he is able to take apart and rebuild almost anything he puts his hands to. His attention to the smallest of details has turned him into a very fine craftsman.

As city dwellers we do our absolute best to maintain an honest and sustainable lifestyle. Re-using & recycling is a constant part of our lives. From the simple act of being aware and making some small adjustments we have learned how much less power and water consumption a family really needs to survive - and still live comfortably.

We were absolutely honoured and delighted when David and Nicola asked if we would become a part of their working lives. The demand for David's fine intricate craft has become too much for only two people to keep up with. Without having to turn down and disappoint their customers they thankfully decided to let us into their world and teach us the most amazing skills it takes to do what they do. We are so grateful and blessed that David & Nicola feel that Charlie and I are the ones that they want by their side.
We look forward to hearing from you and working with you to create something beautiful.  Thanks for dropping by!

Spring 2010 ~ a note from Jill

We are totally enjoying Vancouver this spring.  We’re all back to normal now with the Olympics gone. Vancouver was sure buzzing!  It was nice to have them here...and it's nice to be back to normal now too.

Winter never really arrived this year in Vancouver, quite a change from the last few years. Not even enough snow to build a snowman!  The cherry blossoms and daffodils are in full bloom and life is good!
